Seriously, my last post...this year!

One last attempt...

to try and get a Christmas picture

Someone just shoot me!

Thank you Becka! But really you shouldn't have. Just send the box next time. The chocolate spoons were a terrific hit but they fought over the box it came in. And the newspaper that you added for stuffing had a picture of a princess bed, coats they just recieved for Christmas and a Diego toy..... so guess what? Another fight over who got to look at the K-mart advertisements!! Except I got the coats 50% off - your's were only advertised at 30% off. Check with me next time you buy at Kmart, I might be able to get it for ya cheaper!

And this is what I am doing all day... each batch takes an hour in the oven so 5 batches later and I'm on my way to the all nighter at the church.

The youth is having a dance tonight and at midnight the Bishopric is making breakfast....

Mmm the only thing I can think of that I would want to eat at midnight would be pizza and a gallon of pop.

Then on New Years Day... I am doing daycare. I had enough parents needing to work that I am open. Yay! I don't mind. It will be easy peasy and we will watch video's and eat junk food all day.

5 things I love

1. I love music.
I love the eighties. I love Michael Mclean, Celine Dion, Enya, Christmas music, Church hymns. I love to play the piano and one day I will learn to read music. I love my Grandpa and his intruments. I love singing to my children. I love to hum to my baby when I rock her to sleep. I love to hear others sing and play. I love to fall asleep to music. My favorite song right now is Michael McLeans's Hold on.

2. I love being lazy
Warm blanket. Toasty fire. Girl flicks. Good books. Sunbathing.
Long slow walks on the beach. Casual bike riding. Long Sunday drives. Blogging. Sitting in the hot tub....

3. I love making out.
Kissing. Cuddling. Holding hands. Backrubs. Winking. Arm around the shoulder. The "good game" spanking. A little ear nibbling. The "look" from across the room.

4. I love hosting parties/dinners/meetings.
I love to prepare my home and fix food and "play tea" and socialize with others. I also love going out for dinner...dressing up and relaxing and eating slowly - no kids involved - being served by someone else and eating food you didn't have to bake yourself...

5. I love being around other people.
Old people, young people, children and babies... I love to watch others. I like to observe. I like to smile at people and look into their eyes. I love to listen to the older people and their stories. I love watching someone else corral their children in church... it is a feeling of belonging and interacting and being part of something other than yourself. It's fun to step out of your own realm and try to see the world as others view it.

Tradition!

It's way early in the morning. "Way" meaning I could still get 2 more hours of sleep.
But I am waiting for a parent to drop off their child..... (Jeapordy music playing)

OCTAMOM is up early too - but she is probably from a different time zone.
I am playing along with her today. She posted about taking the tree down and putting Christmas away. I really loved her post today! Very sentimental.

I have already taken the tree down and we are putting the little things away one thing at a time. We normally don't - we leave everything up until the neighbors tell us that it is February and that the current theme is Valentines and hearts and little candy. Roses from husbands...

But I was very hormonal this year and wanted everything organized and put away where it belongs -spick and span -smelling like clorox clean and looking like Martha Stewart lived here. I bet she still has her Christmas up though.

We are a young family and we are still making our traditions. I like to make cheeseballs with crackers for our neighbors and friends but I didn't do that this year. We have been extremely busy. We didn't even send our Christmas cards out. They are still sitting here.

But I think I will always get the kids a new pair of pajama's to wear to bed the night before....

cookies and milk for Santa.

I do want to start a new tradition....
I will hang mistletoe over the bedroom door of the Master bedroom and every night for the month of December after family prayer - Mom and Dad will kiss under the mistletoe and let the kids ooh and ahh (gag and complain that it is gross).
Showing affection so that our kids can see that Mom and Dad are in love. I think it is so important for our children to see that we care about each other -
and that, I think... is a great gift that we can give them. A sense of security.
